Dr. Steven Jones is a native of Taylorsville, Mississippi. He holds an associate degree in paralegal technology from Hinds Community College (cum laude honors); bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies and master’s degree in higher education administration from Mississippi College, a post-graduate certificate in community college leadership and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in higher education administration from The University of Southern Mississippi. He has also completed post-graduate work at the University of South Florida and received a certificate in diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace. Dr. Jones is an Aspen Institute Rising Presidents Fellow and a Mississippi Community College Policy Fellow. Dr. Jones has been employed with Mississippi Delta Community College since August 1, 2019, where he has served as Vice President of Administrative Services and later promoted to Vice President of Administrative and Student Services. The division of administrative and student services encompasses the following key areas: campus police, counseling and disability support services, facilities management, government relations, human resources, information technology, judicial affairs, law enforcement training academy (LETA), public relations, sponsored grants, student activities and recreation, student development, student housing and residence life, student organizations, and title IX.
