Dr. Heather J. Belmont is the Provost/Vice President of Academic Affairs at Indian River State College (IRSC). As Provost, she serves as the chief academic officer of the College and has direct oversight of student learning through development and promotion of the College’s faculty and curriculum. Prior to joining IRSC, she worked at Miami Dade College and served as dean of the School of Science, chairperson and director of the Biotechnology Program.  She has been instrumental in securing and administering millions in grant funding from the USDOE and NSF and has worked to establish numerous STEM education programs. Dr. Belmont holds a B.A. degree from Ithaca College and a Ph.D. degree in neuroscience from the University of Miami.
