Ruth Williams, Ed.D., Harper College’s Provost, strategically leads student success in collaboration with academic and student affairs and enrollment management administrators, staff, and faculty.  

Dr. Williams’ prior professional experiences prepared her to be a strategic and collaborative change agent and transformational leader. She taught anatomy and physiology and biology for over 18 years as an adjunct faculty member, full-time instructor, and tenured track professor at Barat College, Moraine Park Technical College, and Oakton College, respectively. Dr. Williams spent most of her two-year college experience at Oakton College where she served as Oakton College’s Biology Department Chairperson, Dean of Science and Health Careers, Dean of Curriculum and Instruction, and Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs. 

Dr. Williams earned a Bachelor in Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, a Masters of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a Doctorate in Education in Community College Leadership from Ferris State University.
