John “Yiannis” Galiotos received a B.Sc. in Chemistry from Northeastern Illinois University and a M.Sc. & Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Chicago in Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry. While he was doing his undergraduate studies in Chicago, Illinois, he was working for Dynamic International Chemical Fertilizing Company as production specialist. Dr. Galiotos is the Dean of Workforce Development and Associate Professor (tenured) of Chemistry at Southern University of Louisiana at Shreveport. Dr. Galiotos also serves as a Board Member of the Consumer Energy Education Foundation, President of the Houston Abu Dhabi Sister Cities Association, the President and CEO of Workforce Without Borders LLC, and Senior Executive Advisor to the CEO at PHOS Global Energy Solutions. Previously, Dr. Galiotos served as the Senior Vice President for Workforce-STEM/CTE-Economic Development for Suffolk County Community College, Selden, NY; Academic Service Department Manager of ADNOC Technical Academy in Abu Dhabi, UAE; Dean of the Energy and Manufacturing Institute at Lone Star College, Houston, Texas; and Professor and Science & Engineering Technology Division Chair at Houston Community College-Northeast, Houston, Texas. Dr. Galiotos is the Founder of the Houston Community College Global Energy Institute. In responding to STEAM education and industry needs, Dr. Galiotos developed several programs that have been recognized by the State of Texas and nationally. In addition, John has over 15 years of industry experience in the Chemical Fertilizers, Chemical and Petrochemical sectors as researcher and production management specialist. Dr. Galiotos has over 35-year experience in Workforce Education & Economic Development and STEM Education, he is a successful and prolific grant writer, author of numerous publications, globally known presenter of innovative and sustainable workforce development concepts and successes, and an internationally recognized educator, leader, and trainer
