Isaac “Dr. Z” Zúñiga has more than twenty-five years in the community college sector, with a rich background in multiple community colleges across both Illinois and Arizona. He is renowned for his reputation as a thoughtful and strategic leader, with a distinct expertise in fostering inclusive campus cultures to benefit all students. As a trailblazing first-generation community college leader, Dr. Z currently serves as the Executive Vice President for Academic and Student Success at Richland Community College, located in Decatur, Illinois. In this pivotal dual role, he serves as both the chief academic and student affairs officer. Beyond his role at Richland Community College, Dr. Z is deeply committed to community college professional development and leadership. He is an active member of the Board of Directors for the National Community College Hispanic Council (NCCHC) and actively participates on several other state and local community college boards in Illinois.
