Dr. Kendricks D. Hooker serves as President of Augusta Technical College, bringing over 25
years of leadership experience across community and technical colleges, as well as public
and private universities. He is dedicated to expanding access, promoting student success,
and aligning technical education with workforce and regional economic needs. Before
joining Augusta Tech, Dr. Hooker was Provost at Cabarrus College of Health Sciences,
where he launched high-demand programs, expanded early college pathways,
strengthened enrollment, and advanced student success. He previously served as Vice
President of Academic Affairs at Southwest Tennessee Community College, leading the
institution’s first Academic Master Plan and strengthening workforce partnerships. His
earlier roles include academic leadership positions at Madison Area Technical College and
Baptist Health Sciences University. Dr. Hooker holds a Ph.D. in Urban Higher Education, an
MBA, and multiple degrees in biology. He is known for collaborative leadership and
commitment to community and workforce development.
