Rick Fogarty has worked in information technology for more than 30 years with a wide range of technical expertise in the Department of Defense, Healthcare and Higher Education. He joined Central Piedmont as the Vice President for Information Technology Services and Chief Information Officer (CIO) in 2022. He leads an extensive team tasked with operating and enhancing the college’s complex IT environment. He is responsible for the college’s technology service needs, ITS strategic plan, network and systems operations, ITS policy and governance development, security, and overall vision. Rick has several IT industry certifications such as the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Project Management Professional (PMP) as well as the ITIL 4 Foundation certification. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Franklin University, and a Master of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from Boston University.
