Don retired as Vice-President Professional Affairs of Procter & Gamble Pharmaceuticals in 1996. He founded and Chaired the Alliance for Medical Nutrition and the American Osteoporosis Alliance, both in Washington, D.C. He also served as Chairman of the National Pharmaceutical Council, Chairman of the Marketing Section of the (then) Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (now PhARMA), Chairman of the American Foundation for Urologic Disease, and was twice Chairman of the American Heart Association in New York State. He made the quick switch to academia when he married Dr. Toni Cleveland. When Toni became CEO of HERDI, she named Don EVP. Lucky guy!
